This November our 8th Art for Hearts exhibition sale will be held at the Shanghai Centre. 100% of the funds generated from this sale will sponsor children for heart surgery. Over the last 7 years, Art for Hearts has successfully sponsored 72 children and now we’re calling for more artwork to help us achieve more surgeries! 1.   We will accept artwork (3 max each artist) donations from Aug. 25 to Oct. 22, 2026.

2.   You must complete all of the Artist/Art Dealer information with your artwork submission.

Join us for the 6th annual Golf4Hearts Annual Charity Golf Tournament（Friday,October 30 at Shanghai West Country Club）

We thank our key partner Shanghai West Country Club for their kindness in making the
annual charity golf event possible. Through the Golf4Hearts tournament we hope to

Summer holidays in Shanghai usually mean a quieter Assembly Room. Families head
off on holiday, volunteers take a well-deserved break, and we get a chance to clear
some space and prepare for the months ahead.

Well… not this summer.  While much of Shanghai was enjoying a slower pace, our little “office” at Yoda Hospital
was still buzzing. Boxes kept arriving – household items, corporate donations, books, clothing from schools, toys and plenty more. With a smaller team of volunteers, we kept the Assembly Room open, received deliveries, answered calls and sorted everything into categories and age groups according to what is needed at Yida.

One of the highlights was working alongside Grade 12 students who generously gave their time before heading overseas to study. Their enthusiasm, energy and willingness to tackle a mountain of boxes made the sorting sessions considerably more fun.

Why does all this sorting matter?
These carefully organised donations are transported to the Yida H2H facility, where another  team prepares personalised bags for each child and their accompanying family members.   After their life-changing operations, children and families receive clothing, toys and
other thoughtful items – small comforts made possible by the generosity of our donors.

A huge thank you to the handful of volunteers who continued to make their way to Yoda throughout the summer. You kept things moving (and our shelves full)!

Here’s hoping for a quieter Assembly Room next summer… although, knowing Heart to Heart, we probably shouldn’t count on it!

What does Heart to Heart mean to me? FAMILY. I go every Tuesday to volunteer my time. It feels so good to give something (time) with nothing in return……. Giving my energy and time to helping these children to receive heart surgery – if it is packing toys for the kids in hospital or sorting through donations.

But another special part of volunteering for Heart to Heart is friendship/family every Tuesday seeing the same friendly faces and catching up with each other every week.

From Poi Yu:
I am Poi. I joined the Heart to Heart family in 2020 and have since participated in various activities and volunteered with the knitting and sewing group. After
the pandemic, I officially became a member of the Assembly Team.

The Assembly Team is the first checkpoint in the flow of donated goods. Every week, we receive a steady stream of donations from all sectors of society, covering a wide
variety of items. Our team is responsible for unpacking, sorting, and categorizing all donated materials before passing them on to subsequent volunteers for further
processing.

Clothing makes up the largest category of donations. Some items that are in good condition and brand new. They are sent directly to the children undergoing surgery and their families. At the same time, there is also a large volume of second-hand clothing that needs to be handled. They go to a variety of recipients and definitely help the Heart to Heart cause.

As a mother, I can deeply empathize with the anguish and anxiety that come with a child’s illness. That is why I will continue to spare no effort in contributing my modest
strength to Heart to Heart, helping more children and families find new hope.

Betty An:
I am Betty, a volunteer with Heart to Heart, and responsible for sorting the books we receive. We typically receive books in Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, and many other languages. I sort and distribute these books as appropriate. It is truly a meaningful endeavor — turning second-hand books into treasure, reducing waste, and combining public welfare with environmental protection.

Alicia Meng:
I have been a volunteer with Heart to Heart for ten years and am currently a member of the Assembly Team. I am responsible for sorting donated clothing — including new
clothes and gently used second-hand items.

In the past, I regularly participated in the Sunday Hash team’s annual charity red dress run to raise funds for Heart to Heart. I also helped out with the knitting and sewing group, completing urgent orders and teaching knitting as part of charitable outreach programs for schools and organizations in need. During holidays, I assisted with heart bears sales. I have also taken part in events such as Golf for Heart and Art for Heart
charity sales over the years.

夏日里的后勤整理室：安静？那可未必！

上海的暑假通常意味着后勤整理室会安静一些。家庭外出度假，志愿者们享受应得的休息，我们也有机会清理空间，为接下来的几个月做准备。

嗯……但这个夏天可不一样。当上海大部分地方节奏放缓时，我们在徐汇远大心胸医院的小小"办公室"依然忙碌。箱子 源源不断地送来——家居用品、企业捐赠、书籍、来自学校的衣物、玩具等等。在志愿者人手较少的情况下，我们坚持开放整理室，接收物资、接听电话，并根据青浦医大医院（心连心孩子手术医院）的需求，将所有物品按类别和年龄段分类整理。

最令人难忘的经历之一，是与高三毕业的学生们一起工作。他们在出国留学前慷慨地奉献出自己的时间。他们的热情、活力和面对堆积如山的箱子时毫不退缩的态度，让分拣工作变得有趣多了。

为什么这些分拣工作如此重要？

这些精心整理的捐赠品会被运往医大，在那里，另一个志愿团队会为每个孩子及其陪同家人准备个性化的爱心大礼包。在接受改变人生的手术后，孩子们和家人们会收到衣物、玩具和其他贴心的物品——这些都是由捐赠者的慷慨带来的小小慰藉。

衷心感谢那些整个夏天坚持来到远大的少数志愿者们。是你们让一切运转不停（也让我们的货架满满当当）！

希望明年夏天的后勤整理室能安静一点……不过，以我对心连心的了解，恐怕不能指望哦！

志愿者黛比说：心连心对我来说意味着什么？家人。我每周二都去贡献我的时间。不求回报地付出（时间）的感觉真好……把我的精力和时间投入到帮助这些孩子接受心脏手术上——无论是为住院的孩子打包玩具，还是分类捐赠物资。

但作为心连心志愿者，另一个特别之处在于友谊和家人——每周二都能见到同样友善的面孔，每周互相问候叙旧。

志愿者Poi Yu说：我是Poi。我在2020年加入了心连心大家庭，此后参与了各种慈善活动，并加入了编织小组做志愿者。疫情结束后，我正式成为整理团队的一员。

整理团队是捐赠物资流通的第一道关卡。每周，我们都会收到来自社会各界的稳定捐赠，种类繁多。我们的团队负责拆包、分类和整理所有捐赠物资，然后交给后续的志愿者进一步处理。

衣物是最大类的捐赠品。有些是状况良好且全新的，会直接送到正在接受手术的儿童及其家人手中。同时，还有大量二手衣物需要处理，它们会送给不同的受助对象，切实帮助到心连心的事业。

作为一名母亲，我能深切体会孩子生病时的痛苦和焦虑。正因如此，我会继续不遗余力地为心连心贡献自己微薄的力量，帮助更多孩子和家庭找到新的希望。

志愿者Betty说：我是Betty，心连心的一名志愿者，负责分类我们收到的书籍。我们通常会收到中文、英文、法文、德文、西班牙文等多种语言的书籍。我会对这些书进行分类并合理分发。这真的是一件很有意义的事情——让二手书籍变废为宝，减少浪费，将公益与环保结合在一起。

志愿者孟婷说：我成为心连心的志愿者已经十年了，目前是整理团队的成员。我负责分类捐赠的衣物——包括新衣和轻微使用过的二手衣物。

过去，我定期参加周日哈什团队的年度慈善红裙跑活动，为心连心筹款。我还协助编织小组完成紧急订单，并为有需要的学校和机构开展慈善外展项目教授编织技巧。节假日期间，我帮忙销售心连心小熊。多年来，我也参与了;高尔夫为心;艺术为心;等慈善义卖活动。

The summer is scorching, but love keeps flowing. During the summer break, members of Class 4(9) Starry Sky Team from Jiangsu Road Fifth Primary School joined hands with the Heart to Heart program to hold a knitting event at Renheng Café.   For many of the kids, it was their first time picking up knitting needles.  Under the patient guidance of the H2H volunteer teachers, they gradually got familiar with the knitting techniques.  They used colorful yarn to knit lively bows, carefully decorated the little heart bears and completed their own handmade creations. Once they saw the bears they had created themselves, the children’s faces were full of joy and pride.

This event not only improved the students’ hands-on skills but also planted the seeds of charity deep in their hearts. The school’s connection with the Heart to Heart started with the student Wang Zihua. He has been dedicated to charity for a long time and actively brought his love for helping others into the school. Since last December, students at Jiangwu have adopted more than ten heart bears and the funds raised have been used to help children with congenital heart disease undergo surgery. One bear, one wish. The students of Jiangwu will continue to generate love through small actions

暑假期间，江苏路第五小学四(9)星空中队的队员们携手心连心，在仁恒咖啡馆举办爱心编织公益活动，同学们用一针一线编织温暖，传递善意。许多孩子都是第一次拿起针线，在志愿者老师耐心指导下，慢慢熟悉编织手法。大家用五彩毛线编织灵动的蝴蝶结，细心装扮爱心小熊，认真完成属于自己的手工作品。看着亲手打造的小熊玩偶，孩子们脸上满是收获的喜悦。

本次活动锻炼了同学们的动手能力，也在童心深处种下公益的种子。学校与心连心公益的缘分，源于王梓骅同学。他长期投身公益，主动将爱心力量带入校园。自去年12月至今，江五学子已认领十余只爱心小熊，募集资金用于帮助先天性心脏病儿童进行手术。一只小熊，一份期盼。江五学子将持续用微小行动汇聚大爱，让温暖不断传递。

On July 16, to mark the occasion of Yidu Overseas’ relocation to new offices, President Xiao proposed converting congratulatory flower baskets and gifts into charitable donations to fund surgeries for children with congenital heart disease.  He called upon industry peers to join this philanthropic endeavor—spreading love and giving back to society. The initiative attracted participation from over 70 organizations and individuals, raising more than 90,000 RMB by the end of the day—enough to fund surgeries for three children. Shou Lichun, the Association’s Secretary-General, led the way with a donation, inspiring board members to follow suit and prompting broad participation from numerous companies and individuals.

At the event, participants were delighted with the H2H heart bears, often pausing to take photos with them. Some planned to give the bears to their children as keepsakes, while business leaders intended to gift them to employees and clients to extend the spirit of kindness. The bears’ outfits were hand-knitted by H2H volunteers—including some specially customized designs. In just a few weeks, the volunteers crafted over a hundred of these bears; every stitch embodies their heartfelt blessings for the children. A huge thank you to the volunteer team!

We extend our gratitude to Yidu Overseas for organizing this meaningful event to support surgeries for children with congenital heart disease and we also thank all the participating enterprises and kind-hearted individuals for their recognition and support of Heart to Heart!

易渡海外（IMMIDO OVERSEAS）是国内较早从事出国移民服务的专业机构，团队源自2002年首批获资质的国企背景，延续严谨合规、注重安全、服务优先的文化。

两年前，易渡海外肖总通过心连心志愿者Sophia结识上海仁德基金会心连心专项基金，资助一名先心病儿童完成手术。团队见证善款按约用于孩子的治疗，也看到孩子术后灿烂的笑容，深受感动。这份善意，与易渡海外“众善奉行，坚守长期主义”的企业文化高度契合。企业行稳，源于守正；服务长久，源于有责。易渡海外将持续把这份正念融入品牌、服务与伙伴关系之中。

7月16日易渡海外乔迁新禧之际，肖总诚挚倡议将祝贺花篮与礼物转成善款，资助先心病儿童手术。作为上海市因私出入境服务行业协会会长，他号召同业好友共襄善举，向善而行，传递爱心，回馈社会。本次活动吸引70余家机构及个人参与，截至当日募款超9万元。可帮助三位患儿手术治疗，协会秘书长寿丽春率先捐款，并带动理事响应，多家公司多人参与。

活动现场，献爱心的朋友们收到心连心精美的爱心小熊爱不释手、拍照留念，有人要送给孩子作成长礼，也有老总计划转赠员工与客户延续爱心。这些小熊的衣服都是由心连心志愿者们亲手编织制作的，有些是特别定制款，志愿者们在短短几周内赶制出上百个承载着爱意的爱心小熊，每一针每一线，都凝聚着大家对孩子们最真挚的祝福。感谢志愿者团队！

感谢易渡海外为先心病儿童手术组织这场特别有意义的爱心活动，也感谢所有参与的企业与爱心人士对心连心的认可与支持！

今年是我在心连心的第八年。这些年来，我先后在不同团队里志愿服务：编织 组、后勤组、医院儿童游戏室、小熊组。每年不变的工作是年度报告、微信公众号运营和翻译文章，以及艺连心慈善艺术展的组织与筹备。而变化在于，由于团队核心成员的不断流失，当我看到哪里更需要人、而我也能更好地发挥自己的光和热时，就会适时做出调整，把时间和精力分配给我认为更需要我的地方。

近两年，我大部分时间都投入在后勤团队的工作中。去年年初，除了参与日常捐赠物品的整理与分选，我还接手了二手捐赠中文图书的工作。

这个暑假，我也多次前往青浦医大医院的儿童游戏室值班，并承担了一小部分物资运输任务。我还带儿子和女儿一起来做志愿者——他们在儿童游戏室值班，也在仓库帮忙整理书籍。刚加入心连心时，他们还只是小学生，能参与的很有限。这些年我做公益的同时，孩子们也在耳濡目染。寒暑假有空时，我就会带他们做一些力所能及的事，比如去慈善艺术展帮忙、用零花钱献爱心、搬运画作或捐赠物资。

说实话，有时也会因身体疲惫而在出门前百般犹豫。可一到现场，看到那么多活儿等着干，大家齐心协力、互相帮助，疲惫便一扫而空，浑身又充满能量。出一身汗，反倒觉得对身体也是一种健康。

如果你来到这里，还会发现这是一个非常减龄的地方。一些资深的女志愿者们，六十岁看着像五十岁，五十岁看着像四十岁。这样的例子数不胜数，每个人的实际年龄都比看上去要年轻十岁。这也许是因为长期做公益，并且心怀善意，让人由内而外焕发出青春的光彩。

总之，远大心胸医院的后勤团队工作站是一个很神奇的地方，那里汇聚着巨大的能量。只要待上两三个小时，你就会感到焕然一新，身心无比充实。在那里，人人有爱、彼此关怀——这是一种非常神奇的力量。

还记得加入心连心的第一年，我说自己找到了一件可以做一辈子的事。八年过去了，我依然坚信如此。

Eight Years with Heart to Heart: Sweat, Warmth, and a Special Kind of
Energy

This is my eighth year with Heart to Heart. Over the years, I’ve volunteered with different teams: the knitting group, the assembly team, the hospital playroom, and the heart bear team. My regular tasks have always included writing the annual report, running the WeChat official account, translating
articles, and organizing the Art for Hearts charity exhibition. What has changed is that as core team members have gradually left, I adjust my focus.  When I see where help is most needed and where I can make a bigger difference, I shift my time and energy there.

For the past two years, I’ve spent most of my time on the assembly team. Early last year, besides sorting through donated items, I also started handling second-hand Chinese book donations.

This summer, I went several times to the children’s playroom at Qingpu Yida Hospital to volunteer and also helped with some material transport. I brought my son and daughter along too. They volunteered at the playroom and helped organize books in the warehouse. When I first joined Heart to Heart, they
were still in primary school and couldn’t do much. Over the years, they’ve learned by watching me. During school breaks, I take them to join in simple tasks — helping at the art exhibition, donating their pocket money, carrying paintings, or moving donated supplies.

To be honest, sometimes I hesitate before going out, especially when I’m tired. But once I get there and see how much needs to be done, and how everyone works together and helps each other, the tiredness just disappears.  I feel full of energy again. Breaking a sweat even feels good for my health.

If you come here, you’ll notice something interesting — this place seems to keep people young. Some of the long-time female volunteers look ten years younger than their age. A woman in her sixties looks like she’s in her fifties; a
woman in her fifties looks like she’s in her forties. There are so many examples like this. Maybe it’s because doing good over the years, with a kind heart, keeps you young from the inside out.

In short, the assembly workstation of Heart to Heart at Yoda Hospital is a special place. It’s full of positive energy. Spend two or three hours there, and you’ll feel refreshed — both physically and mentally. People care about each other and support one another. It’s a truly unique kind of power.

I still remember my first year with Heart to Heart. I said I had found something I could do for a lifetime. Eight years have passed and I still believe that.

One morning in June volunteers from Heart to Heart and staff from the Thai consulate embarked on a special knitting journey.  They started from scratch to make adorable accessories for heart bears. At first, everyone was a bit clumsy as they worked with the needles and yarn, but under the patient guidance of the volunteers, they soon became fully focused and diligent in their work.

After two hours of effort, the participants successfully knitted beautiful bows to dress up the heart bears—each one imbued with the warmth and care of its maker. Some participants even adopted the bears.  Proceeds from those sales will go toward funding heart surgeries for children with congenital heart disease in the name of the Royal Thai Consulate. We are grateful to the consulate for their support.  It made this ordinary June morning shine all the brighter thanks to their love.

六月的一天上午，Heart to Heart 几位志愿者们与领馆工作人员开启了一场特别的编织之旅。从零基础开始学习编织，为小熊制作可爱配饰。

一开始大家拿起针线时还有些手忙脚乱，但在志愿者耐心指导下，每个人都全神贯注、认真努力地编织，经过两个小时的努力，学员们陆续完成了漂亮的蝴蝶结，将爱心小熊装扮一新，每一只小熊都承载着制作者的温度与心意。有些学员们还爱心认领了小熊，善款将全部用于资助先天性心脏病儿童的手术治疗。

一针一线，汇聚温暖，改变一生。感谢泰王国领事馆的支持，让这个平凡又不平凡的六月上午，因爱而格外明亮。

During our visit, we assisted in sorting and organizing donated clothing in the warehouse, ensuring that items are efficiently distributed to families in need. Despite working under the summer heat, everyone remained committed and positive throughout the session. There was a shared sense of purpose across the team, knowing that even simple tasks could bring comfort and dignity to those facing difficult circumstances.

What makes this initiative even more remarkable is its growth over the years. Since its humble beginnings in 2003—when only 2 children were supported in 2004 —the program has expanded significantly and now reaches around 500 children annually, most of whom come from remote areas in China and who live on minimum income.

This volunteering experience was a meaningful reminder that small acts can make a big difference. While the work itself was modest, the impact behind it was profound, leaving every volunteer with a deep sense of fulfillment and pride in contributing to such a meaningful cause.

Catherine Li (CGHL); It’s truly meaningful to come together to help sort and organize donated clothes for children at Yida Hospital. Moments like this remind us that community care matters. Helping sort and organize donations for families at Yida Hospital is a simple act, but it carries so much meaning and hope.

Ertan (ERTT): Heart to Heart left incredible impressions on all our hearts. Bringing less fortunate and less able children and their families from all provinces and corners of China to cure their heart diseases. Some of the children and their parents need seven days(!) to get to Shanghai. Traveling on horsebacks through mountains, then buses, and then eventually trains/flights to Shanghai. Within ~20 years, the group has grown to aided many for heart surgery each year. True miracles. The team got a glimpse of it today and we are all captivated by all of H2H’s remarkable work and what they stand for.

Harriet (HQQM), our LDO associate who is working in SHO for the week, also joined our volunteer event. She commented: I felt very fortunate to join SHO’s volunteering day at Yida Hospital and witness the incredible work being done for children requiring heart surgery. Hearing more about the families they support, many from remote areas with limited access to care, was very moving, and it was a great opportunity to spend the morning alongside the SHO team.

作为Heart to Heart志愿者项目的一环，我们团队近期在青浦区医大医院的心暖心仓库开展志愿工作。这是SHO首次举办Capital Care公益行动，这段经历令人心生触动、备受鼓舞。

对于全国各地乡村的患儿家庭来说，医大医院长久以来承载着他们心脏病手术的希望。Heart to Heart项目，不仅为每位患儿提供医疗费用资助，还筹备衣物、洗护用品、玩具等各类生活必需品。许多家庭远道而来，随身行囊寥寥无几。这份支援，在艰难的就医时光里，缓解他们物质上的窘迫，也抚慰着他们心灵。

本次志愿活动中，我们在仓库协助整理、分类各界捐赠衣物，保障物资能够高效送到有需要的家庭手中。尽管天气炎热，所有志愿者始终投入、保持热忱。团队所有人怀揣共同的信念：即便只是细碎平凡的工作，也能身处困境的人们带去慰藉，守护他们的尊严。

这项公益行动更令人赞叹的是多年来持续成长的历程。项目起步于 2003 年，发展之初规模十分有限，2004 年仅有两名患儿获得救助。时至今日，项目规模已大幅扩大，每年可为约 500 名孩子提供帮助。这些孩子大多来自中国偏远地区，家庭收入微薄。

这次志愿经历带给我们深刻感悟：微小善举，也可汇聚巨大力量。志愿工作本身看似平凡，背后产生的影响却意义深远。能够投身这份充满价值的事业，每位志愿者心中都涌动着满满的成就感与自豪感。

大家齐聚一堂，为医大医院的孩子们整理分拣捐赠衣物，这件事意义非凡。这样的时刻让我们明白社群关怀至关重要。为医大医院的患儿家庭整理物资只是一件小事，却承载着沉甸甸的心意与希望。

Ertan (ERTT):
Heart to Heart 给我们所有人留下了极为深刻的印象。这个组织帮助来自全国各地的贫困患儿及其家人来到上海，接受心脏病救治。有些孩子和家长路上要花整整七天才能抵达上海！他们骑马翻山，再换乘大巴，最后搭乘火车或航班奔赴这里。短短二十年间，机构不断发展壮大，每年帮助众多孩子完成心脏手术，创造着实实在在的奇迹。今天我们亲身窥见这一切，所有人都深深被H2H卓越的行动与坚守的信念打动。

Harriet(HQQM)是本周借调至SHO的LDO同事，也参与了本次志愿活动。她说道：“我很荣幸能够参与 SHO在医大医院举办的志愿日活动，亲眼见证这项为先心病患儿开展的伟大事业。了解到许多受助家庭来自医疗资源匮乏的偏远地区，我内心十分触动。能够和 SHO 团队共度这个上午，是一次珍贵的体验。

以心相连，为爱行动在包玉刚实验学校，公益常常始于一个简单的念头：想为他人多做一点。一次义卖、一场讲座、一段真实的心跳，都能让关心被看见，让善意汇聚成真正的改变。包玉刚心连心社团由学生自主策划和运营，目前已成长为一支由40名成员组成的团队。成员们参与活动策划、创意设计、宣传推广、慈善义卖与对外合作，共同将公益想法转化为实际行动。过去，社团主要通过筹款支持先天性心脏病儿童接受手术。

今年，我们在延续这一使命的同时，也更加关注校园健康教育，鼓励大家重视身心健康。我们举办了YKPS健康周，通过心血管健康讲座、中医茶饮体验、健康主题菜单和互动情绪毛线板，以轻松、互动的方式将健康知识带入校园生活。今年，社团还将学校树屋改造成“希望之声”沉浸式展览空间。

参观者可以聆听康复患儿的真实心跳录音、阅读他们的故事，并通过互动展板了解先天性心脏病，在声音与故事中建立更真实的情感连接。我们也在健康周、Disco Night、春节和春季慈善周期间举办了四场主题义卖。成员们共同完成菜单设计、物资准备、宣传和现场运营，让更多同学以简单直接的方式参与公益。在学生、老师、家长、学校与基金会的共同支持下，包玉刚心连心社团在2025—2026学年共筹集人民币35,976.27元，用于支持先心病儿童的心脏手术。在与患儿及家属的交流中，我们收到了许多朴实而真挚的反馈。许多家庭来自资源相对有限的山区，虽然没有华丽的表达，却会通过一声声感谢、术后的消息和真诚的回应传递心意。这些细微的行动让我们感受到帮助带来的真实改变，也让所有付出更有意义。未来，我们将继续探索公益、健康教育与学生创意之间的更多可能，通过实际行动为需要帮助的儿童带去希望。让每一份善意化为行动，让每一次心Connecting Hearts and Acting Out of Love—YKPS H2H Club

At YK Pao School charitable initiatives often begin with a simple thought: the desire to do a little more for others. Whether through a charity sale, a lecture, or a genuine, heartfelt connection, acts of care become visible and goodwill coalesces into real change. The YKPS “Heart to Heart” Club is entirely student-led and operated.  It has grown into a team of 40 members. These students handle everything from event planning and creative design to promotion, charity sales, and external partnerships.  They work together to turn philanthropic ideas into tangible action.

While the club previously focused on fundraising for surgeries for children with congenital heart disease, this year—alongside continuing that mission—we have placed greater emphasis on campus health education, encouraging the community to prioritize both physical and mental well-being. We organized the YKPS Health Week, integrating health knowledge into campus life through engaging, interactive activities such as cardiovascular health lectures, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) tea experiences, health-themed menus, and interactive “emotional yarn boards.” Additionally, the club transformed the school’s treehouse into an immersive exhibition space titled “Voice of Hope.”  Visitors can listen to recordings of the actual heartbeats of children who have recovered from their heart surgery, read their stories, and learn about congenital heart disease through interactive displays, thereby forging a genuine emotional connection through these sounds and narratives. We also organized four themed charity sales during events such as Health Week, Disco Night, the Spring Festival, and Spring Charity Week. Members collaborated on menu design, logistics, promotion, and on-site operations, enabling more students to participate in philanthropy in a simple, direct way.

With the collective support of students, teachers, parents, the school, and H2H, the YK Pao School “Heart to Heart” Club raised a total of RMB 35,976.27 during the 2025–2026 academic year to fund heart surgeries for children suffering from congenital heart disease. Through our interactions with the children and their families, we received much simple yet heartfelt feedback. Many of these families come from mountainous areas with limited resources; while they may not use elaborate language, they convey their gratitude through sincere words of thanks, post-operative updates, and genuine responses. These small gestures allow us to witness the tangible impact of our assistance and make our efforts truly meaningful. Moving forward, we will continue to explore new possibilities at the intersection of philanthropy, health education, and student creativity, bringing hope to children in need through concrete action. Let every act of kindness translate into action, and let every heartbeat be heard.

7月14日，一个普通的周二下午，我按照事先在心连心网站上的报名，提前半小时来到了儿童游戏室，准备开始这次的志愿服务。出发前，我曾接受过幼儿教师的相关培训，因此一进门，我便先熟悉了游戏室的环境，并对内部进行了整理。

很幸运，当天还有另外两位志愿者与我一同服务——Amelia和Jin Hui。她们都是非常温柔善良的女孩，在她们的协助下，我们三人分工合作，很快让游戏室变得井然有序，活动也顺利展开。

这次志愿活动中，最令我印象深刻的，是来自西藏的嘎桑措姆小朋友和来自新疆的一位小男孩。我们陪孩子们一起做手工。嘎桑措姆挑了一只可爱的鸵鸟模型，她说她喜欢鸵鸟羽毛的颜色。她眨着眼睛问我：“这里有动物园吗？能看到鸵鸟吗？”我告诉她，上海有两座动物园——一座是长宁区的上海动物园，另一座是奉贤区的上海野生动物园，那里都可以见到鸵鸟。她接着又问：“鸵鸟跑得快吗？”这个问题我一时答不上来，便转向Amelia求助。Amelia像个小老师一样，认真翻阅了手册上的英文说明，然后笃定地告诉嘎桑措姆：鸵鸟跑得很快，而且它们的耐力甚至超过猎豹。做完手工鸵鸟后，嘎桑措姆又热情地招呼那位新疆小男孩，两人一起协作完成了一只小狮子。小男孩性格腼腆，离开游戏室后又折返回来——原来他的小狮子有些松散。在我的帮助下，小狮子恢复了原样，他捧着它开心地离去。那一刻，看着他满足的笑脸，我的内心也被深深治愈了。

特别感谢Jin Hui，她始终默默在一旁为孩子们拍照，用镜头定格下了这些美好的瞬间。

志愿活动的前一天，志愿者Mei分享了一段视频，是三位藏族女孩载歌载舞的画面，其中就有嘎桑措姆。于是，我邀请嘎桑措姆也来唱首歌、跳支舞。她兴奋地让我帮她穿上小狮子的装扮，然后点了那首《卓吧 卓吧》，伴着音乐欢快地唱跳起来，整个游戏室都充满了童真的笑声。

活动结束时，孩子们依依不舍地离开游戏室，纷纷回头问我们：“明天你们还会再来吗？”我们微笑着告诉他们：“明天会有不同的志愿者来陪你们。”听到肯定的回答后，孩子们的眼睛里亮起了期待的光芒。

走出游戏室的那一刻，我忽然明白——志愿服务的温暖，从来都不是单向的给予。当孩子们的笑声回荡在房间里，当他们拉着我们的手不愿松开，那份纯粹的快乐和信任，也同样治愈了我们自己。原来，治愈，真的是双向的。

Account of the Children's Playroom Volunteer Activity on July 14, 2026: Healing Is a Two-Way Process

On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 14—an otherwise ordinary day—I arrived at the children’s playroom half an hour early to begin my volunteer shift, having signed up beforehand via the “Heart to Heart” website. Since I had previously undergone training for early childhood educators, I began by familiarizing myself with the playroom environment and tidying up the space.  Fortunately, I was joined that day by two other volunteers, Amelia and Jin Hui. Both were incredibly gentle and kind; with their help, we divided up the tasks and quickly brought order to the playroom to ensure the activities got off to a smooth start.

A young girl from Tibet (Gasangcuomu) and a boy from Xinjiang left the deepest impressions on me that day.  We assisted the children in making crafts.  Gasangcuomu picked out a cute ostrich saying she loved the color of the ostrich’s feathers.  Blinking her eyes, she asked me, “Is there a zoo here? Can I see ostriches?” I told her that Shanghai has two zoos—Shanghai Zoo in Changning District and Shanghai Wild Animal Park in Fengxian District—and that ostriches could be seen at both. She then asked, “Do ostriches run fast?” I couldn’t answer the question immediately, so I turned to Amelia for help. Like a little teacher, Amelia looked it up and then confidently told her that ostriches run very fast and possess even greater endurance than cheetahs. After finishing the ostrich, the girl enthusiastically invited the boy from Xinjiang to join her.  Together they made a little lion. The boy was shy.  But after leaving the playroom, he came back because his little lion had started to come apart. With my help, the lion was restored to its proper shape and he left happily cradling it in his hands. At that moment, seeing his satisfied smile, I felt deeply healed myself.

The day before the event, a volunteer named Mei shared a video of three Tibetan girls singing and dancing—one of whom was Gasangcuomu. So, I asked her if she could sing and dance for us as well. Excitedly, she asked me to help her put on a little lion costume; she then selected the song “Zhuoba Zhuoba” and began to sing and dance joyfully to the music filling the entire playroom with the sound of innocent laughter.

As the playroom session drew to a close, the children were reluctant to leave repeatedly looking back to ask us, “Will you come back tomorrow?” We smiled and told them, “Different volunteers will come to keep you company tomorrow.” Upon hearing this affirmative answer, their eyes lit up with anticipation.

Stepping out of the playroom, I suddenly realized that the warmth of volunteering is never a one-way act of giving. When the children’s laughter echoed through the room and they held our hands, unwilling to let go, that pure joy and trust healed us in return. It turns out that healing is truly a two-way process.

这个夏日，我和女儿 Flo 有一个特别的约定。每周四的下午，我们会一起前往上海仁德基金会心连心专项基金参与志愿者服务，为那些即将接受心脏手术的孩子们准备“欢迎礼包”。礼包里装着学习用品、绘本、玩具以及一些生活用品。这些礼物看似简单，但每一次打包，Flo 都花足了心思。她会仔细对照患儿的年龄与性别，认真挑选最贴心的组合：如果是四五岁的小女孩，她会挑选粉嫩的低幼玩具和简单的益智游戏；如果是十三岁的大男孩，她会挑出更具科技感、更复杂的机器人；如果是十二岁的女生，她又能精准找到这个年纪喜欢的彩绘工具和闪亮的小挂件。看着她神情专注地分类、摆放、一件件核对确认，我突然深有感触：原来公益从来不是一次简单的“给予”。当一个人真正开始设身处地为另一个陌生人着想时，爱才开始真正发生。02 被公益改变的，还有我们自己第一次去“心连心”时，工作人员 Karen 老师耐心地教Flo挑选规则、分类整理，以及每个孩子所需的数量。那时的 Flo 显得格外拘谨与紧张，生怕拿错了物品或装错了口袋；面对装满礼物的大号推车，她甚至手忙脚乱，不知道该如何控制方向；而真正跟着进入病房时，她更是退在最边缘，显得有些害羞。然而，每一次经历都在滋养着成长。到了第四次，她已经对整个流程烂熟于心。她会熟练地整理物品，凭着自己的敏锐判断分配礼物；当她再次推着那辆沉甸甸的大推车进入医院，不仅能游刃有余地掌控方向、准确找到电梯，更能自然地协助 Karen 老师将礼包提入病房，从容地站在一边，看着Karen老师和孩子们沟通。看着她从最初的小心翼翼，到如今的熟练与自信，我由衷地感到：公益真正改变的，不只是接受帮助的人，也在静水流深地改变着每一个参与者。03 第一次看见另一个世界来上海接受手术的孩子，大多来自西藏、新疆等偏远地区，有的家庭为了孩子治病四处奔波，而他们能来到上海接受免费的治疗，也是一次难得的机会。这些患儿小的不过三四岁，大的十二三岁，有的因为病情复杂需要分阶段治疗，这已经是他们第二次接受“心连心”的爱心资助了。记得 Karen 老师第一次见 Flo 时曾说过：“这些孩子的家庭条件非常困难，难得来一次上海，这些礼物对孩子而言，是非常珍贵的。”于是，每一次装包，Flo 都会严格按照要求，把整个大礼包塞得满满当当。当 Karen 老师带着 Flo 将礼包亲手递给病床上的孩子时，那一幕深深触动了我们。孩子们收到礼物的那一刻，眼中绽放出无比耀眼的光芒。Karen 老师温柔地告诉他们：“这个是你的，这个也是你的，这整个大礼包全都是送给你的。” 孩子们脸上写满了惊讶与不可置信。一个大一点的孩子忍不住小声询问：“这是谁送给我的呀？”Karen 老师笑着答道：“是心连心.”  孩子听完，重重地点了点头。

那一刻，Flo 第一次真实地接触到了自己日常生活之外的世界，内心受到了极大的震颤。从那以后，每次去做义工她都无比期待。我想，这种亲眼所见的真实震撼，是任何书本和说教都无法替代的。04 最好的父母，是给孩子做榜样很多年前，我曾任职的公司经常举办各种公益活动。那一年“Giving Tree”的活动，我记得非常清楚：有个不认识的小哥哥在许愿卡上写下他想要一把吉他，而恰好那时的 Flo 想要一把尤克里里。我在同一家网店里买下了一把吉他与一把尤克里里，还和 Flo 提起过这个远方小哥哥的音乐梦想；后来参与“Operation Smile”（微笑行动），我和同事去贵州参加为期一周的唇腭裂儿童公益项目，我特意带上了 Flo 的书包和玩具送给当地同龄的患儿，回来后还把那个小女孩拿到礼物时的照片给 Flo 看。这些看似微小的点点滴滴，Flo 其实一直在默默观察。她在观察妈妈如何对待这个世界，如何把爱与善意传递出去。多年以后，当她因为爱丁堡公爵奖再次接触到公益时，我很欣慰地看到她极其自然地，心生欢喜地走上了同一条路。我越来越相信，父母给予孩子最深远的影响，从来不是一次次口头教导她应该成为什么样的人，而是在日常生活中，让她亲眼看见我们如何面对这个世界。这个夏天，对 Flo 来说，也许只是一次充实的志愿服务经历；但对我来说，却是一段极其珍贵的母女同行。我看着她从最初的不知所措，到后来能独立从容地完成任务；看着她从只关注自己的小世界，到她学会关心别人，也愿意用自己的方式给别人带去一点温暖。作为父母，我们无法替孩子去经历她的人生，但我们可以陪着她去看看更广阔的世界——然后深深地相信，她终会慢慢长成自己最想成为的样子。

My Daughter and I Volunteering Together
— A Story About Gifts, Growth, and the Power of Role Models

This summer, my daughter Flo and I made a special commitment to each other. Every Thursday afternoon, we go to H2H to volunteer and prepare “welcome gift packages” for children who are about to receive heart surgery. The packages include school supplies, picture books, toys, and daily necessities. Although these items may seem simple, Flo puts a lot of thought into preparing each one. She carefully considers each child’s age and gender and tries to choose gifts that are meaningful to them — for example, younger girls may receive age-appropriate toys and educational games, while older children may receive items that better match their interests. Watching her carefully sort, arrange, and check every item, I realised that volunteering is not simply about giving. True kindness begins when we learn to put ourselves in another person’s shoes.

When we first came to Heart to Heart, Karen patiently taught Flo how to select items, organise the packages, and prepare the right quantity for each child. At the beginning, Flo was quite shy and nervous. She was afraid of making mistakes, and even pushing the large trolley filled with gifts felt challenging for her. When she entered the hospital ward for the first time, she quietly stayed at the side, unsure how to interact with the children. However, each visit helped her grow. By the fourth time, she had become familiar with the whole process. She could organise the items confidently, manage the trolley smoothly, find the right places, and assist Karen naturally when delivering the packages to the children. Seeing her grow from a hesitant beginner into a confident young volunteer reminded me that volunteering changes not only those who receive help, but also those who offer it.

Through this experience, Flo also had the opportunity to see a world beyond her own daily life. Many of the children coming to Shanghai for surgery are from remote areas such as Tibet and Xinjiang. Some families have travelled a long way and gone through many difficulties to seek treatment for their children. These children range from very young toddlers to teenagers, and some require multiple stages of treatment. I still remember Karen telling Flo that, for many of these children, such carefully prepared gifts are incredibly precious. Every time Flo prepared a package, she followed the instructions carefully and made sure it was filled with love and care. When Karen and Flo delivered the gifts to the children’s bedsides, seeing their surprise and happiness was deeply touching. At that moment, Flo experienced a side of the world that she had never seen before. I believe that this kind of real-life experience and emotional connection cannot be replaced by books or words alone.

For many years, I have also been involved in different charity activities. I remember participating in a “Giving Tree” project, where a young boy wished for a guitar and at the same time Flo was hoping to have a ukulele. I bought both instruments and shared his musical dream with Flo. Later, I joined an Operation Smile project in Guizhou, supporting children with cleft lip and palate conditions. I brought some of Flo’s books and toys to children there and shared the photos with her afterwards. These small moments may have seemed ordinary, but Flo was always quietly observing how her mother treated the world and shared kindness with others. Years later, when she started volunteering through the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, I was deeply touched to see her naturally and happily continue on the same path. I believe the deepest influence parents can have on their children does not come from repeatedly telling them what kind of person they should become, but from showing them through our own actions how we engage with the world. This summer has been a precious journey for both Flo and me — a journey of learning, compassion, and growing together.

生命中有一些时刻，值得被郑重珍藏。为纪念家族的喜事“吾家添丁”，我们用一种特别的方式，将这份喜悦化作了一份更广阔的爱，特地向心连心定制了一只爱心小熊。它不只是一份诞生礼，更是一份生命的承诺：每售出100多只小熊，就能汇成一台先心病儿童的手术，改变孩子的命运。

定制过程中，编织组的负责人Sophia耐心而细致，与我反复沟通款式细节，只为让这只小熊成为独一无二的存在。因为孩子的爷爷曾服役于军队，我们希望以另一种方式传承。于是，我们特意为小熊赋予了飞行员的角色，参照美国著名的“飞虎队”形象。志愿者刘婷婷、郭姝雯、沈菊英和陈静黎联手编织了小熊的飞行员夹克、裤子和帽子，背后贴着飞虎队标识，英姿飒爽，帅气十足！

愿这只小熊承载家族的期许，也寄托对孩子的美好祝愿——长大后如飞虎英雄般翱翔蓝天，成为跨越太平洋的友谊使者。

Celebrating a New Addition to the Family

There are moments in life that deserve to be deeply cherished. To celebrate the joyous arrival of a new baby in our family, we sought a special way to transform this happiness into a broader expression of love by commissioning a custom heart bear from Heart to Heart. This is more than just a birth gift; it is a part of Heart to Heart’s pledge of life — for every 166 bears sold the proceeds fund a life-changing surgery for a child with congenital heart disease. Throughout the customization process, Sophia, who manages the knitting team, was incredibly patient and meticulous.  She repeatedly communicated with me about the design details to ensure the bear would be truly unique.  As the baby’s grandfather had served in the military, we wanted to honor that legacy in a special way. We decided to style the bear as a pilot, inspired by the legendary “Flying Tigers.”  Volunteers Liu Tingting, Guo Shuwen, Shen Juying, and Chen Jingli collaborated to knit the bear’s pilot jacket, trousers, and cap complete with the Flying Tigers emblem on the back—giving the bear a dashing and heroic look! May this bear carry our family’s hopes and our heartfelt wishes for the new baby so he grows up to soar through the skies like a Flying Tigers hero and becomes an ambassador of friendship across the Pacific.。

It’s hard to believe that Heart to Heart as already sponsored more than 4,100 children for heart surgery!  It’s also hard to believe that when you see their pictures, you actually remember them.  Their lovely smiles and warmth are sure-fire ways into your heart.  And they just stay there seemingly forever.  So, we thought we’d share one of those unforgettable faces with you – especially since he was Heart to Heart Child #4000!

Who is H2H Child #4000?  He’s an 11 year old boy from Xinjiang – Yusan Yalimaimaiti.  Yusan Yalimaimaiti was diagnosed with congenital heart disease during a left scapular lesion resection surgery in Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture in August 2025. His diagnosis was later confirmed at the PLA Army’s 946 Hospital and surgery was advised, but his family couldn’t afford it.  They were desperate for him to get the surgery.

Yusan Yalimaimaiti lives with his Weiwuer minority parents, 2 sisters (ages 12 & 16) and 11 year old brother.  All of the children attend school. His parents are farmers and have an annual income of around RMB 39,000. They have a debt larger than their annual income from building their home long ago.  They had no idea Yusan would need heart surgery so were at a loss as to what to do.  His application came to Heart to Heart through the hospital system and his H2H sponsor came to the rescue for him.  It was a perfect match for him.  He had his heart surgery in January and is expected to make a full recovery.  He should go on to live a full, healthy life.

这位H2H项目第 4000 号受助儿童是谁？他就是来自新疆的 11 岁男孩 —— 小玉散。

2025 年 8 月，玉散在伊犁哈萨克自治州接受左侧肩胛病灶切除手术时，被查出患有先天性心脏病。随后，中国人民解放军陆军第 946 医院确诊了病情，医生建议尽快实施心脏手术，可高昂的费用却让他的家庭无力承担。全家人万分焦急，迫切希望孩子能够得到手术救治。

玉散一家是维吾尔族，家里有父母、两个姐姐（12 岁、16 岁）以及一名和他同龄的弟弟，五个孩子都在上学。父母以务农为生，家庭年收入约 39000 元。早年建房欠下的债务，数额已经超过全家一年的收入。谁也没有料到玉散还需要接受心脏手术，突如其来的难关让一家人手足无措。

经由医院体系递交申请，玉散的求助信息送到了心连心项目。项目捐助方划伸出援手，为他承担了手术费用，这份援助来得刚刚好。今年 1 月，玉散顺利完成心脏手术，预计可以完全康复，往后便能拥有健康圆满的人生。
